Online Business Model
It is extremely important to develop a plan or model of what your business will look like as soon as you decide to go into business. You can start out by drawing a simple plan on the back of a napkin and continuously re-working it as the vision of your online business becomes clearer. My advice would be to keep it simple at first and use the internet to research your competition, and find other businesses like yours which you can use as a model. You don't have to reinvent the wheel here.
Do an income analysis and project what you are expecting from the business. Again keep the income and financial analysis simple at first. Start out by setting a target gross income or revenue per month and test, evaluate whether your plan will deliver the results you are looking for.
As an example, let's say you want to be an affiliate for a product or service which will pay you $30.00/customer each time that customer buys through you. In addition your plan is to make an additional $3000.00/month. This would mean you should aim for $100.00/day or a little more than three sales/day to meet your goal. So your plan should be to find a product which will pay you $30.00/sale and be wanted by enough customers to buy on average 3.3 times per day.
The purpose of developing a model of your business is to use it as a framework, and guide you in making decisions about developing and growing your internet business. It helps you to see ahead and gives you goals to aim for to grow your online business.
The business model will also be used as the starting point for defining and obtaining additional resources to support the business and the entrepreneurial skills to run the business. It can also be used to identify the internet marketing skills to make the business profitable. Modeling your business is truly an entrepreneurial task so my recommendation would be to seek help with this if you have been working at a JOB until now. I would make understanding this task a priority for investing in your business and yourself.
